Elizabeth Reeves practices in the areas of bankruptcy and emergency management and has worked for FEMA since 2001. Attorney Reeves started in disaster relief work during the Bosnian War in the mid-1990’s. Hurricane Harvey devastated the Houston, Texas area in August 2017 and Attorney Reeves was there to handle crucial family home loss and legal coordination with FEMA in the heavily impacted areas. Her efforts and expertise as a FEMA Logistics Reservist has brought solace and solid footing for countless devastated families of Houston and the surrounding areas. Attorney Reeves is also recognized for her work with FEMA during 9/11, Hurricane Katrina and Hurricane Sandy. She taught American Law for two years in two Chinese Universities, Chongqing University and Sichuan International Studies University.
Attorney Reeves is also an an accomplished portrait artist. Elizabeth received her B.F.A. from The Maryland Institute College of Art and her J.D. from the University of Baltimore School of Law. Ms. Reeves was the first person to win an Indian rights case in the State of Maryland on appeal and the first to obtain a protective order for race horses in a bankruptcy case in US Bankruptcy Court of Maryland. She has published a series of articles on ART LAW in New York City’s Art and Artists magazine in 1984 on copyrights, the droit moral, and the droit de suite.
