In addition, she helps business owners with drafting contracts, such as independent contractor agreements, non-compete agreements, and employment contracts so that the contract protects the business owner in the event that something happens. Evon also helps business clients develop strategies and minimize the risk of exposure for their business and themselves personally through proper incorporation of a business, updating corporate minutes, revising and implementing employment policies, and conducting due diligence for a purchase of a business. She represents business owners and individuals with prenuptial and postnuptial agreements, and with their estate planning (wills and trusts, power of attorneys and health care directives). Evon also represents businesses and clients in appeals, including unemployment compensation, and daycare license adverse decisions.
Attorney Spangler has been admitted to practice in Minnesota since 1998. She is a graduate of William Mitchell College of Law, St. Paul, Minnesota, Juris Doctorate cum laude – 1998 and Moorhead State University, Moorhead, Minnesota Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice and Sociology – 1995. She is a prolific international speaker, and has numerous published works.
Giving back to the communities where she lives and works is one of the founding principles of Spangler and de Stefano, PLLP. As part of her values to support changing the lives of those who are impacted by domestic abuse, cancer, veteran issues, homelessness, poverty, and people with mental health issues, Evon is active with numerous charitable organizations, including being the co-founder and the board chair of Domestic Abuse Legal Advocacy Center. Domestic Abuse Legal Advocacy Center is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit law firm located in St. Paul, Minnesota, which provides pro bono legal services to victims and survivors of domestic violence at collaborating shelters in Minnesota.
