Steven Hittelman has been practicing for over twenty years as a Certified Specialist in Family Law by the State Bar of California Board of Legal Specialization. His dedication and leadership are unmatched among Orange County family law practitioners; he is a tireless advocate who gives generously of his time and expertise to advance the interests of families and children throughout the state. In addition to his many leadership roles, Mr. Hittelman provides pro bono legal services through the Public Law Center, volunteers his time overseeing volunteer attorneys at Laura’s House, serves on the Orange County Grand Jury Task Force for Children and currently sits on the Human Options pro bono committee, providing legal assistance to the victim-reside of their Domestic Violence shelters once a month.
Before Hittelman Strunk, Mr. Hittelman was a Deputy District Attorney for Orange County, California (1995-1997) and was the first Deputy D.A. hired exclusively for the Family Support Division, then a senior associate at Minyard Morris LLP. His published articles include “License Suspension as an Enforcement Tool: A Roadmap to District Attorney Enforcement of Arrears through Welfare & Institutions Code Section 11350.6, Orange County Lawyer (June, 1997); “U.I.F.S.A., F.F.C.C.S.O.A., C.EJ.-Deciphering Interstate Support Obligations” Orange County Lawyer (June, 1998); “Spousal Torts: All’s Fair in Love and War”, Orange County Lawyer (February, 1999) and “Behind the Scenes at Bridging the Gap” Orange County Lawyer (June 2009). Steven received his J.D. from Southwestern University School of Law. He is a member of the Orange County Bar Association’s Blue Ribbon Committee on the Administration of Justice (2004-2005, 2007-2016), Orange County Celtic Bar Association, Orange County Women’s Lawyer’s Association, a founding member of the Orange County Jewish Bar Association and Orange County Chapter of the California Association of Certified Family Law Specialists, and co-chair of the Bridging the Gap Committee.
