Michael P. Ryan joined Jaspan Schlesinger LLP’s Trusts & Estates Practice Group in January 2015. He was previously a partner at a large law firm in Manhattan and the chair of its Trusts and Estates Department. Before that, he had a long career as a member of the Surrogate’s Court staff and as a lecturer on a variety of topics related to trusts and estates.
He had been Chief Clerk Referee of the Nassau County Surrogate’s Court since 2005. Mr. Ryan is also an Adjunct Professor of Law in New York Law School’s Taxation LL.M. program and a well-known speaker at various bar associations, court conferences, and other events.
Michael received his B.A. from the University of Notre Dame and his J.D. from Fordham University School of Law. He has been a contributing editor for the LexisNexis Corporation since 2001.
