James Bright has extensive experience in business litigation matters in the state and federal courts at the trial and appellate levels, including a wide spectrum of business torts and commercial contract disputes. He has obtained multiple jury verdicts ranging from tens of millions of dollars to several hundreds of millions of dollars. The vast majority of his litigation matters involve scientific and engineering issues and are routinely heavily expert witness laden, largely for oil companies, public utilities, and corporate land owners. He also regularly represents clients in transactional matters concerning all aspects of oil and gas exploration and production, pipeline transportation, and power plant construction and operation. Mr. Bright has in-depth experience in advising clients regarding the purchase and sale of oil and gas properties, power plant, gas sales and supplies contracts, crude oil purchases and sales contracts, power plant construction contracts, power plant operations and maintenance contracts, and use matters and issues arising under various environmental acts. Jim received his B.S. in Geology from the University of Southern California, his J.D. from Loyola University School of Law, and he is a Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers.
