Margarett Williams practices in the area of matrimonial and family law, where she is given the opportunities to assist others through the painful process of divorce and family issues and to take pleasure in each clients’ transformation to a life full of hope for the future. Many of her clients continue to remain in touch with her long after the divorce because they view her as a life coach with respect to both practical (education, employment, etc.) and legal matters (post divorce and prenuptial advice). Margarett started her matrimonial and family law career working at a top AV rated firm. She is also a human resource consultants. Prior to becoming an attorney, she worked in a $1 billion corporation where she served as a human resources professional and corporate trainer on employment issues. She began her legal career practicing employment law where she handled cases involving the Fair Labor Standards Act, Title VII, the Age Discrimination in Employment Act, the Family Medical Leave Act and other causes of action involving large corporations. Margarett received her B.A. summa cum laude from Adelphi University and her J.D. from Touro Law Center, where she received an award for academic excellence in trial practice. She is a member of The Society of American Law Teachers, Suffolk County Bar Association, The Suffolk County Women’s Bar Association, National Association of Legal Professionals, and is an executive board member of the Alexander Hamilton American Inn of Court.
