Donald S. Burris

Our attorneys have practiced before state and federal courts throughout the State of California, as well as before the United States Supreme Court and in other jurisdictions. Our offices are located in Wilshire-Bundy Plaza, on the north-west corner of Wilshire Boulevard and Bundy Drive in Brentwood, West Los Angeles.
Donald Burris was the Senior Founding Partner for the firm of Burris & Schoenberg, LLP. He has had a distinguished career as a trial and business attorney in the District of Columbia and for over 32 years in Los Angeles, California. Mr. Burris has also served on the faculties of the Georgetown Law Center and Loyola University of Los Angeles Law School and served as a special counsel to the U.S. Senate Watergate Committee. He has worked with his partner, Mr. Schoenberg, in the successful pursuit of art works and other assets stolen by the Nazi authorities before and during World War II.
Mr. Burris has been a contributing author of numerous articles and sections of various textbooks relating to his professional and teaching activities and was selected as a member of the board of directors for a number of entities, including Jinpan International Limited (“JST”), a publicly-traded corporation which manufactures cast coil transformers for power distribution and whose manufacturing facility is located in Haikou, Hainan Island, China.
Mr. Burris received his B.A. with honors from Alfred University and his J.D. with honors from Georgetown University Law Center. He is a member of the Los Angeles County Bar Association, American Bar Association, District of Columbia Bar Association, and the Association of Trial Lawyers of America.
Mr. Burris was honored by Georgetown University and received the Paul R. Dean alumni award for Distinguished Legal Services. The award is presented to four outstanding alumni on an annual basis.
Mr. Burris was married to his wife, Patricia and they have two grown children and two grandchildren.
