With extensive transactional experience as Co-Bond Counsel and Underwriters Counsel, she has participated in over 180 municipal bond issues totaling over $20 billion, for clients including the Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport and the Texas Public Finance Authority.
Renee Higginbotham-Brooks served as Chairperson of the Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission and was its first and only African American and female member. She believes the key to her success over the years has been her ability to reinvent and market her expertise.
Other legal experience includes ten years in federal regulatory interpretation and litigation as a Regional Attorney for the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services; a Civil Rights Attorney for the U.S. Department of Health, Education and Welfare; and a Regional Attorney for the National Labor Relations Board. Renee received her J.D. from Georgetown University School of Law and won the National Bar Association Wiley A. Branton Award in 2011.
