Barbara J. Macy has been an attorney since 1985. She is admitted to practice law in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, the U.S. District Court, District of Massachusetts and the Supreme Court. A second-generation attorney, she maintains a private mediation practice in the area of real estate and a law practice in the areas of real estate, family law, child welfare, and gay and lesbian legal issues.
Ms. Macy received her J.D. from Northeastern University, 1984 and B.A. magna cum laude from Boston University, 1980. Macy is a member of the Real Estate Bar Association of Massachusetts and the Massachusetts Lesbian and Gay Bar Association. Ms. Macy is also a Member Society of Fellows, Mass. Bar Foundation, since 1994, has served numerous times on committees reviewing grant applications submitted to the Massachusetts Bar Foundation requesting funding from IOLTA. She has been a Volunteer Lawyer for the Day at Suffolk Probate & Family Court, Volunteer conciliator for Boston Municipal Court, Ethics Editor, “Representing Gay and Lesbian Families,” Massachusetts Continued Legal Education 2000, and volunteer for the Real Estate Bar Association.
