Attorney Cecilia Buck-Taylor has been offering experienced legal services for over 25 years. She also has dual majors in Psychology and Criminal Justice from the State University of New York, from which she graduated with honors. Cecilia has found that having a degree in Psychology as well as her law degree is very helpful in dealing with family and other matters that require more than a straightforward legal approach, especially with mediation services.
Having many years of experience as a court appointed attorney and guardian ad litem for minor children and as a Family Masters, Attorney Buck-Taylor understands family and divorce issues, including custody issues, divorce, mediation, and collaborative work from many different perspectives.
Her varied education and years of employment before becoming an attorney, as well as her achievement as a Reiki Master, help her provide clients with a well-rounded perspective on a variety of life issues.
Attorney Buck-Taylor is also active in her community and recently served two terms in the Connecticut General Assembly. Prior to her service in the Capitol, she has served on the Ethics Commission of the Town of New Milford, the New Milford Housing Partnership, the New Milford Town Council, the New Milford Board of Education and was also a member of the Board of Directors for the Greater New Milford Chamber of Commerce.
Cecilia is a graduate of Fordham University, JD, 1991 and SUNY Albany with a BA in Psychology & Criminal Justice with honors.
