Top Attorney – Peter S. Palewski – President’s Circle Member

Mr. Palewski has been practicing law since 1969. He is admitted to practice law in all New York State and federal courts, including the Supreme Court of the United States. His general practice emphasizes, personal injury claims, minors’ civil cases, environmental law, municipal law, complex litigation and a good number of pro bono cases for deserving situations. Peter also has many years of litigation experience in Social Security and Workers Compensation and most other matters, including decedents estates. Mr. Palewski practiced criminal defense for fifteen years and now does so on matters of his choice. He was also associated with the New York State Legislature as associate counsel to the legislature’s minority leader in 1977 and 1978. Mr. Palewski was an adjunct professor of law at Herkimer County College. He is also associated with a New York City law firm. In past years he was a member of the New York State, Oneida County and American Bar Associations.

Peter attended and graduated from Syracuse University law School with Joe Biden who later became a United States Senator, and, later, Vice President of the United States. He is a member of several organizations, Peter served as head of the Memorial Committee of the Oneida County Bar Association for several years. Mr. Palewski was an Assistant County Attorney for the County of Oneida serving as the attorney representing the County in many other matters, for example in over 300 court appearances per year on Uniform Support of Dependents ‘ cases. He was a candidate for Oneida County District Attorney in 1977 and served as Village Attorney for the Village of Clayville, New York for thirty seven years, retiring in 2011. Peter is a contributor to several charities including the Mohawk Valley Frontiers, Junior Frontiers and the Lakota (Sioux) Indian School. Mr. Palewski has received numerous honors, citations, salutations and achievement. His father, Stanley B. Palewski, a jurist and Utica Corporation Counsel, and his sister, Elizabeth Wellington were also lawyers. Attorney Wellington practiced law in Greenwich, Connecticut and was admitted to practice law in New York, Connecticut and New Jersey. She co-founded the first women’s law firm in the State of Connecticut.

Mr. Palewski has three sons: Paul Christopher Palewski, San francisco, CA; Andrew Palewski, Philadelphia PA; and Craig Palewski, Utica, NY.
