Ms. Spagnola-Hills is a former claimants attorney and has been licensed to practice law in Florida since 192. She has been Board Certified in Workers’ Compensation since 1999. She credits her skills as a workers’ compensation litigator to her educational background at the UF College of Law and participation in the law School’s Trial Team which laid the groundwork to utilize the knowledge and skills she obtained as a claimants’ lawyer to fully understand and evaluate the positions of both parties in order to give the best possible legal opinions to her clients. Mrs. Spagnola-Hills spent the first ten (10) years of her legal career limiting her representation to employees and injured workers. However, since 2001, Mary has limited her legal representation to the defense of Employers and their Insurance Carriers and Servicing Agents for their defense needs. Mary’s initial ten (10) years representing injured employees/workers has given her a unique perspective and advantage in representing her current clients in Employer/Carriers and Servicing Agents. Mary firmly believes that the client is her number one priority and believes in a Team Approach, working closely with her clients to optimize outcomes and maintain communication with timely updates and continuity of strategy.
Mrs. Spagnola-Hills is a two-time breast cancer survivor and wife and mother of two sons. She is grateful for her doctors, family and friends who helped her through those difficult times, allowing her to fight cancer in 2004 and 2012, she is a fierce advocate for breast cancer awareness and research towards a cure. Towards that end, she is currently on the Board of Directors of the Susan G. Komen, South Florida Affiliate and speaks at many local meetings and health fairs to keep awareness on everyone’s mind. She has also been on the Board of Directors of Treasure Coast Division of the 440 Scholarship Fund, Inc. as Secretary from January 2015 to September 2016 to raise funds and assist with choosing candidates for college scholarships for students affiliated with people involved in the Florida Workers’ Compensation System. She is a member of the First United Methodist Church, Port Saint Lucie and has sat on various committees over the last 17 years where she considers it the church home for her entire family. Mary has also found the time to pursue her interest in martial arts with her family where she, her husband and two sons are all black belts. She enjoys photography and spending time making jewelry.
Mrs. Spagnola-Hills received her Bachelor’s of Science in Business Administration and Juris Doctorate from the University of Florida. She is a member of the Florida Bar Association and the Florida Bar Workers’ Compensation Section, Board Certified in Florida Workers’ Compensation and is admitted to the United States Southern District and Middle District Courts of Florida. She is also an Official Provider and Instructor for the Florida Bureau of Agent & Agency Licensing Notifications, providing adjusters with seminars for continuing education credits. Mary sits on the Board of Directors of Susan G. Komen, South Florida, South Florida Affiliate, where she dedicates her efforts in speaking engagements and fundraising in an effort to reduce the mortality rate among breast cancer victims and believes in a future when breast cancer no longer takes the lives of our family and friends.
Mrs. Spagnola-Hills is married to Bill with 2 sons, William and Zachariah.
