Ms. McCoy received her B.A., from The University of New Mexico, During her time at UNM, Colleen worked in the psychology department as a research assistant for Dr. Kathy Stansbury studying the stress hormone cortisol and coping behaviors in preschool aged children. Colleen partnered with Dr. Stansbury and their findings were published in the Journal of the International Society of Psychoneuroendocrinology in 1998. Colleen received her J.D.from the University of Denver- Sturm College of Law.During law school, Colleen was actively involved in the Phi Delta Phi International Legal Honors Society, the International Law Society, Intellectual Property Society, and Business Law Society. She also interned with the Law Office of Mary Jean Kindschuh, who was an early advocate for advancing GLBTQ parental rights in the Denver metro area.
