The accomplishments and achievement nts attained by Mr. Henry W. Root, in the field of Legal Services, warrants inclusion into the Top Attorneys of North America. Henry W. Root has over thirty years of experience handling legal and business affairs in the music, television, and media industries. He has represented recording artists signed to every major label, award‐winning songwriters and producers, independent music publishers, record labels and the producers and principal cast members of several TV series. Mr. Root has also overseen business and legal affairs for the delivery of programming to every major network as well as for distribution on the internet. Mr. Root’s practice is concentrated on providing sophisticated advice to prestigious individuals and corporate clients, the negotiation of complex content agreements, and related strategic planning. He provides counseling and guidance in connection with due diligence matters, complex rights sales, acquisition and licensing issues, and valuations of intellectual property assets. He is a visiting professor at the University of Miami School of Law, teaching music law. He is the author of the music chapter in the treatise “Essential Guide to Entertainment Law.” He was the co‐author of the comment letter submitted by major international music publisher PeerMusic in response to the U.S. Justice Department Antitrust Division request for comments on “Performing Rights Organization Licensing of Jointly Owned Works” and is a contributing author to the Matthew‐Bender publication, “Entertainment Industry Contracts: Drafting and Negotiating Guide.” Henry is a member of the Governing Committeeee of the American Bar Association Forum Committeeee on the Sports and Entertainment Industries and Chair of the Executive Board of the Entertainment Law Initiative.
