Bemidji, MN WW/Press/November 28, 2016 –Robert F. Enger, Attorney with Legal Services of Northwest Minnesota, was selected for inclusion in the forthcoming Top Attorneys of North America 2017 edition of The Who’s Who Directories.
The accomplishments and achievements attained by Mr. Robert Enger, in the field of Legal Services, warrants inclusion into the Top Attorneys of North America. Bob Enger has worked throughout his legal career to help lower-income clients get the legal help they need. Upon passing the bar, Bob obtained a clerkship with the Honorable James Preece, in the Ninth Judicial District, Bemidji, MN. After clerking for a year, he started with Legal Services of Northwest Minnesota, which provides civil legal services for low income individuals in twenty-two counties in northwest Minnesota. Bob is the supervising attorney in the organization’s Bemidji office. He represents clients in a multitude of legal areas such as housing issues, family law matters, consumer law matters and public benefits, as well as other areas. On any one day, Bob could be working with a DV client in a divorce or Custody battle, arguing with a local landlord or utility company, or fighting with a debt collector on behalf of his clients and is still there after more than twenty years.
Bob has been a very active member of his profession, leading to him being the first legal services attorney to become a state bar association president. As President of the Minnesota State Bar Association he promoted initiatives such as the Amicus Society, a program to encourage attorneys to advocate for full funding of the rule of law and the North Star Attorney Program, which recognizes attorneys who meet their goals for pro bono hours. He has been very active in his community, serving as Past Chair of the Evergreen House Board of Directors, a non-profit human service type organization which emphasizes services to endangered youth in the Bemidji area, currently an active board member and Founding Community Advisory Group member of the Beltrami Area Dental Health Center, where they created a public access dental clinic to address and serve shortage of dental care for low income individuals in the Bemidji/Beltrami County Area. He is the current President of this Board and a Board of Directors member for Hope House, a local non-profit which has a primary focus on providing services in the community for those with Mental Health issues. He is Founding Member of the Nameless Coalition for Homeless and current Vice-Chair of the Board, which has recently opened an overnight shelter for chronic inebriates.
