He focuses on representing police officers in various crime incidents and has vast experience with representing them in collective bargaining, and labor matters. His clients currently ranges up to two-hundred police and firefighter pension boards throughout the state of Illinois. Prior, he impressively served as a Sergeant and Assistant to the chief of police for ten years. He has spoken at several training seminars on firefighter pension fund and co-authored two publications, “The Illinois Police Pension Fund Trustee Handbook” (2001 ed.) and “The Illinois Firefighters Pension Fund Trustee Handbook” (1997 ed.). Attorney Richard J. Reimer is involved as an adjunct professor at Louis University and as well as an instructor at the IPPFA Northern Illinois University New Trustee Workshop. Richard attributes his success to his compassion among the police and firefighters, yet aggressively fighting numerous cases on their behalf. Mr. Reimer received his J.D. from DePaul University, John Marshall Law School. He is a member of the American Bar Association, Illinois Bar Association, Chicago Bar Association, DuPage County Bar Association, the National Association of Public Pension Attorneys, and the American Trial Lawyers Association.
