Remson is an attorney in private practice who has been practicing law in Hackensack New Jersey for twenty-four years. She is admitted to the Bars of New Jersey and New York and various Federal Courts, including the U.S. Supreme Court. Ms. Remson’s practice focuses on criminal defense and municipal court practice. She is a Co-Chair of the Municipal Court Practice Committee of the Bergen County Bar Association. Ms. Remson serves as Public Defender for the Borough of Oakland, New Jersey and represents private clients throughout New Jersey. Ms. Remson serves as Secretary of the District Ethics Committees in Bergen County, screening and docketing grievances concerning attorneys alleged to have violated the Rules of Professional Responsibility and overseeing the investigation and prosecution of such complaints. She has participated in CLE (continuing legal education) programs on professionalism, ethics rules and grievance procedures to her colleagues. Ms. Remson has presented CLE’s on topics such as LGBT Cultural Competency and Gender Bias, Domestic Violence, DWI’s and Municipal Court, and Expungements. Ms. Remson is a Past Chairperson of the LGBT Rights Section of the New Jersey State Bar Association (NJSBA). She was elected to serve on the Nominating Committee of the NJSBA and appointed to the Amicus Committee of the NJSBA. Ms. Remson is Vice President of Women Lawyers in Bergen and serves as a Trustee of the Bergen County Bar Association and Co-chair of the Municipal Court Committee and of the Professionalism in the Law Committee. She received her B.A. from Rutgers University, Douglass College, and her J.D. from Rutgers School of Law – Newark and was a Judicial Law Clerk to the Honorable Martin J. Kole in Bergen County Superior Court, Civil Division.
