San Antonio, TX WW/Press/December 31, 2015 –Karen Dalglish Seal, Attorney at Disability Advocates Consultants of Texas, was selected for inclusion in the forthcoming Top Attorneys of North America 2015-16 edition of The Who’s Who Directories.
The accomplishments and achievements attained by Ms. Karen D. Seal in the field of Legal Services warrants inclusion into the Top Attorneys of North America. For twenty years, Karen Dalglish Seal worked in public schools as a special education teacher and administrator. Karen Seal fought for the rights of children with disabilities. Karen Seal has also taught in adult and continuing education programs, has been interpreter for the deaf and functions as the President of her company, Disability Advocates/Consultants of Texas. In 1998, Karen Dalglish Seal returned to school to work on her doctorate degree in law at St. Mary’s University School of Law. She earned her J.D. in 2000 and began her next career as a legal advocate for children with disabilities. Karen Seal attends A.R.D.s and other school meetings, files for due process hearings, drafts complaints to the Office of Civil Rights and the Texas Education Agency and files federal lawsuits. Karen Seal also works to protect the rights of those children in the juvenile system who have special needs. Karen Dalglish Seal has worked to improve the laws and services for students with disabilities. Numerous local, state and national organizations have invited Karen Seal to speak on topics related to legal issues involving children with special needs. Most notably, Karen Dalglish Seal has spoken at the national convention of the Council of Parents, Attorneys and Advocates for Special Education (COPAA) in 2008, 2010, 2011 and 2013. Karen Seal has made presentations for continuing legal education seminars for the State Bar of Texas on numerous occasions–recently in 2009, 2010, 2015 and 2016. Karen Seal presented seminars for college students enrolled in the Teacher Preparation Program at the University of Texas at San Antonio in 2010 and 2011. She was also an invited speaker at the Deaf-Blind Multi-Handicapped Association of Texas State Convention in 2009. She is a member of the San Antonio Bar Association, American Bar Association, and the State Bar of Texas School Law Section, Juvenile Law Section, and Litigation Section. She is licensed to practice law in Texas, the Western District of Texas and in the Fifth Circuit.
