Tulsa, OK WW/Press/July 28, 2015 –Timothy W. Holder, M.D., F.A.A.F.P., Medical Director of Supportive Care & Survivorship, with the Cancer Treatment Centers of America, was selected for inclusion in the forthcoming Top Doctors of North America 2015-16 edition of The Who’s Who Directories.
The accomplishments and achievement nts attained by Dr. Timothy W. Holder, M.D., F.A.A.F.P., in the field of hospice and palliative medicine/symptom control and management, warrants his inclusion into The Top Doctors of North America. Dr. Timothy Holder is the Medical Director of Supportive Care and Survivorship at CTCA at Southwestern Regional Medical Center. He has been with CTCA since 2013 and has over 20 years of experience in hospice and palliative medicine/symptom control and management. For Dr. Holder, his treatment of patients truly is personal as he lost both of his parents to cancer. This helps him to provide patients with comprehensive symptom management and a better quality of life.
Prior to joining CTCA, Dr. Holder was in private practice with Maternal & Family Practice Associates with four other Family Physicians. He was also the paid Medical Director for The Hospice, Inc/St. Francis Hospice, a not-for-profit hospice whose home office is in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Dr. Holder was one of the Founders and an active volunteer of the Good Shepherd Health Clinic, which serves the working poor one day a week.
Dr. Holder received his BA in Biology from the University of Dallas, where he graduated Cum Laude, and his MD from the University of Texas Medical School at Houston. He then completed a Family Practice Residency at the Memorial Medical Center in Corpus Christi, TX where he received the Physician Excellence Award and was named Resident of the Year for two years. He is a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians, Oklahoma Academy of Family Physicians, American Medical Association, Oklahoma State Medical Association (Accreditation Review Committeeee, Chair, Member & Site Surveyor), East Central Oklahoma Medical Society, Texas Medical Association, and the American Academy of Hospice and Palliative Medicine. He has also actively been involved with the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education, as a past member of Board of Directors and Committeeee for Review and Recognition, and current member of Accreditation Review Committeeee. In 2006, he received the William M. Weaver, M.D. Distinguished Service Award and the Muskogee Phoenix Reader’s Choice Award. Dr. Holder has also received Primary Care Physician of the Year and the 2004 Red Cross Everyday Hero Award from the American Red Cross. In 2014, he received the Moments of Truth Award for Physician of the Year from the CTCA at Southwestern Regional Medical Center in Tulsa, OK.
